What you need to know before you start your spectacular journey

Our Respect for the Environment
We follow uncompromising ethics and eco-friendly standards on our photo safaris. While giving you the opportunity to see and photograph the amazing African eco-system, we also take measures to keep the environment intact and untouched by our presence.

Climate and Clothes
When you book your trip, we will advise you of what types of clothes and accessories you should pack so you’re well-prepared. The African climate is moderate, but you could encounter temperatures of over 90 degrees or near freezing depending on time of year and destination. Because we provide laundry service, you’ll be able to pack light even if your tour will take you into variable weather.

Travel essentials
You will need a passport to travel to Africa. Visas are not typically required, but be sure you have at least two blank pages in your passport. If you don’t already have a passport, we recommend that you apply for one no less than eight weeks prior to when your photo safari begins. Also, be sure your passport will be valid for at least six months after your photo safari. When organizing your trip, we will guide you in what documents you’ll need and how to obtain them.

Health and medical info
In South Africa, medical facilities are well-equipped and offer advanced treatment and testing. First-aid kits are always available on our tours, and nearby towns and cities offer medical services if needed in the event of an emergency.

We recommend bringing some basic medical supplies with you such as Band-Aids, pain killers, anti-diarrheal pills, etc. If you require prescription medications, be sure to pack them as well. Also, let us know when you book your photo safari if anyone in your party has any special medical conditions.

Vaccination recommendations and requirements (such as for Malaria, Yellow Fever, and Hepatitis B) can be different by region, and they change from time to time. When organizing your trip, we will provide additional information about any required or suggested immunizations. We recommend that you review the status of your most recent tetanus vaccination and see your physician if yours is out of date.
